Which advertising company is better? Google Adwords or Facebook Ads?

Hi, I've done a lot of advertising for my websites, and I feel that Google Adwords is better. However, a lot of people are telling my Facebook ads are really good. What am I missing out here? Am I not advertising correctly?

Facebook ads are great for generating 'likes' for your page, or perhaps driving traffic to your website, but not for selling product. Users generally search Google with 'purchase intent', so your conversion rates will be better there. So, Google is for sales, Facebook is for brand engagement.

That's a very good explanation. I will have to try it out for my startup. Thanks! However, as Facebook is so good in targeting specific demographics, has any company succeeded in using FB for "purchase intent"?

In my opinion both are equally important. People use Google when they are searching for something, and, they use Facebook when they are consuming content to get general news. You can use facebook to increase your brand awareness by posting engaging content to people for a small promotional price with your existing users and also to acquire new users. I recently ran a promoted post on facebook are here are some interesting findings:

From time to time I run a few promoted posts that cost little but maintain a steady engagement of users. This has also resulted in more app downloads for me.

Cheers

Thanks for the great feedback. That really clears things up for me. Also, do you use any other advertising platforms that you could recommend?
