What are some of the craziest but effective hacks used by startups for growth purposes?

I'm wondering. Thanks!

How important is a demo video for your website?

I know that Dropbox did a demo video and that gave them a lot of beta testers.

Professional demo videos require money to produce, so it's not the easiest path for most startups.

What are the reasons why a startup should build it, vs. just creating a content-rich homepage?

Unfair advantage?!

I am working on my lean canvas and my idea doesn't really have an unfair advantage, it is a simplified version and slightly modified form of other concepts on the market appealing to a niche user group. It could easily be copied if people wanted. Do I give up now?

Please help validate my idea: bundling cruises with tours

I am 33 years old, and I am an enthusiast for cruises (I know I know...it's for old people, but you know it's actually quite cool).

So, while I love drifting on the ocean, finding a tour after you get off the ship is actually a problem for not only me, but many of the other fellow vacationers.

Especially for the old folks. The excursions on the cruises are very expensive, with the same private tour costing maybe 2X-3X more than if you would book it online yourself.

I think for many oldies, they probably don't know where to find that information, let alone book it. I was wondering if it's possible to make a cruise package search engine where you can search for all the cruises, and then after you pick the cruise and its stops, you can choose from the private tours at a way cheaper price, but with a small transaction fee.

I know the market is quite niche, but what do you guys think about this idea?

When do I know I should give up?

Hi, I have been working on my website for 6 months now, and I have about 500 users right now. However, I am kind of stuck, and the website just can't seem to take off. When should I cut my losses and give up? Is there a clear indicator on when I should give up? In numbers? or by symptoms? Thanks!

When should you incorporate?

Hi, I an just about to launch my product and am wondering when I should incorporate, and what type of company should I incorporate in? LLC? S company? C Company?

Also, which state should I incorporate in. Most people say incorporate in Delaware, but I also heard great things about Nevada.

What's the difference between incorporating in those different states?

Does anyone know what % of funded startups fail vs. bootstrapped ones?

I'm asking this question because my co-founder and I are thinking about getting funding, but he's against it and wants to bootstrap. I'm trying to understand if being funded really make a difference.

How to monetize end users?

VCs are the new investment bankers.... Angle investors are the new VCs... and banks are reluctant to lend. It's more important now than ever before to begin generationg revenue as soon as possible. Aside from a monthly/quarterly subscription fee, in what ways can you generate revenue with subscribers?

How come nobody has tried out something like a Pinterest for video?

Pinterest is a pretty awesome platform for images. However, is there something like Pinterest but with videos?
